Hey guys, its my 1st thread on this forum I want to ask question,I have a ( howtomakedoughnuts.com ) which uses adsesnes, but I have a bad CTR,over 4-5%,I have over 50 visits per day,but no clicks,my ads are placed badly? or what?!
When it comes to having success with adsense, there are some factors that comes to play such as The niche you are promoting, some niche tend to have more ctlr than others, Your site layout, you need to have a high converting site for adsense to make money The type of adsense format you use on your site matters and several others I examined your site and discovered your ads are not relevant to your content and url, your ads are not placed in the appropriate places and you also need to change your ad format. Tweaking and experimenting will be very beneficial too. Regards, John
Can anyone teach me why I should change my ad types and where to place them for better CTR? howtomakedoughnuts.com
let me tell you one thing 4-5 % CTR is not bad at all ... Normally website have 2-3 % CTR .. work more on content
I think the food/baking niches in general have pretty low CTR. I have a couple of sites in those niches, (one for making pancakes) and the CTR on these is about the same as yours. One suggestion I would make after looking at your site is to reduce the number of ads on your site. This may sound like it would be counterproductive to what you want to do (increase the number of clicks), but its not. The problem is that there aren't that many advertisers in the niche you are in and therefore Google fills out the remaining spaces with ads that are not relevant. This hurts your CTR and probably also your income. Try removing the left hand ads and let us know if things improve. One other small thing that you can try is increase the amount of white space, (just a little) between your main ads and the body text below, this could help a little... Good luck!
yes, use smaller ad units, or fewer, so that you get only the highest RPM ads. this might not increase your page ctr at all, but your page RPM have great chances to increase, which is all that matters. My own CTR minimum aim is 5% so you're not far from that, it's more a problem when you read threads about people having 1% CTR and less.. If you're already at 4% you only need a little extra ad placement optimization to reach 5% easily.
I'm getting better positions with my site (howtomakedoughnuts.com) now, lets see,I wonder what CTR I will have, when I get top 5
Sometimes it's like a blind soldier hitting anything, anyone. Just concentrate on building good content. The rest will follow, including CTR.
4-5% is not a bad ctr, though I do not know what a standard ctr for you cooking niche is. For one of my site the ctr is less than 1%. New visitors are also likely to click on ads more than people who regularly visit, and I find that the CTR for text ads is lower on my sites than image ads.
4~5% CTR is considered good, what you need to do is focus on generate more traffic to your site to increase your earning
Will google disable my account if... ... CTR is to high(+60%). No, even for a 100% or 200% CTR (Not Cheat)
If you have a legitimate CTR of 60% then that is pretty incredible, google have their ways of checking if clicks are legitimate or not and even if it doesn't trigger that then I think you will still arouse suspicion. I am not sure you fully understand CTR, as if you had a CTR of 200% it would mean people are clicking on ads that aren't even there. 100% would mean every person who sees and ad clicks on it, so 200% would be for every ad a person sees they click on two, which is impossible.
