Looking for a LITE script as a base for a Social network

    Hi there,

    You guys know of any light base social networking scripts. I'm looking at building a unique network for something and believe a social networking script would start as a good base to hack.

    I've looked up "Kwolla" which looks OK - Wondering if you guys know of any more. Even basic member registration scripts with member pages etc?

    There are only just a few good social networking scripts around.
    Actually 3 well known and solid, they exist for many years already and have good support too and private forums.

    I have try those 3 scripts problem is to have a complete social network that loads FAST you will need to spend at least 200/month in hosting ( to start up ) and do some customization to the server like creating subdomain for images,etc. If you can afford it then SocialEngine is the best one. That is the one I use in my sites.

    BuddyPress might be a good option. It's relatively light (less bloated and far more stable than a lot of the other scripts), a good foundation to add customized features and it's free

    Social engine (SE) is way slower than Phpfox and require even more server power, so in my opinion, you get a better and faster social network with Phpfox V3.
