    Dear Users,

FileSonic.com is now offering a new account type, collaboration, and this thread was opened by us to listen to your feedback on this new account type.

    What is Collaboration?
Collaboration space allows files to be shared with everyone and without the standard download limitations. Downloads will start immediately and with pro user speeds.

What is the benefit to you?
The Collaborate account allows unlimited use; unlimited file sharing, storage, storage time, downloading and speed for a small extra in price, $15 a month instead of $9 a month for pro.

    Best regards,
    Marco

I second that, the premium page is also very confusing.

Damn. The price is going to increase down? Is that for existing users or new users?

Yes, horizontal placing of different pro premium plans might be better as in present style only 1 month type is visible.

If you are a premium member then your files will not be deleted due to inactivity (no downloads).

I don't like the new design either, but the "colaboration" setting is great for files < 1MB (they don't generate revenue anyways).

1/ Actually its a massive extra with over 3 x the price on the annual premium collab = $180 pro = $55 so any plans to offer collaboration at a yearly rate
2/ If a pro account holder converts his files to collab are the file links also changed otherwise all files already posted will allow free downloads and may upset forum owners
3/ Is it up to the account holder to make sure his collab links are not posted over the internet, if so how can this be prevented.
4/ Can collab accounts elect not to allow files to be placed into file search and listing sites
5/ Am I right in thinking a DMCA cannot be submitted without a file link

I will mention your suggestion to the development team, thank you

Any converted file retains the same link, post don't have to be changed, as for standard links you have to select where you post your links. Ways can be used to avoid the mentioned issue, hiding links or making them clickable with ... in the middle or just a download text link. You could use collaborate files as a selling tool to influence users to buy premium by letting them try no limitation, you therefore put a part collaborate and others standard for new posts, and put it back to standard after.

The collaborate files can give you new selling tools but have to be managed. The affiliate program always offers great earnings potential if you put in the hard work.

As it is a new account, we did not evaluate a longer period price.

    Best regards,
    Marco

    Thanks for the reply

I was looking at this from a different perspective that being a private membership site and I'm assuming now reading your reply you envisage this as more of a way to promote sales.

However the trial download without limitation could also backfire if as sometimes happen downloads are slow or files are not found due to server issues, however I shall see how this develops because as you say it's all new ground.

In the new style, create account is before payment. So 2 free premium vouchers message is hidden for the first time premium buyer. Please try to mention this in some manner like 'With lifetime pro premium you will get 2 free premium voucher codes to share'

Please mention the purchase details on the create account page itself as this will be helpful for the buyer about the kind of purchase he is going to make after creating the account.

Also instead of simple 'Create Account' button for pro & collaboration plan its better to give as 'Create Account & Select Payment Method' in order to differentiate between free & premium plans.

    Thanks
