    Greetings,

We are attempting to make this (www.Old2Sold.net) an Niche market online auction site. The name is catchy and the domain is pretty straightforward! Thanks in advance.

How come you have chosen sold in the domain? Things aren't rhyme games.

I don't find any meaning or relevancy in the domain. But decision is yours.

Thanks. "Old" = (e.g., antiques, cars, real estate,) or anything found in the attic, garage or heck ...garbage pickers (and people make a living doing it) can go online to old2sold and sell these items. Ebay sells almost anything (e.g., minus spouses, children etc lol); however, old2sold will have a niche market. "Sold" = it's old (and maybe can't sell on Ebay) and the target market is someone looking for that special antique furniture, or jewelry.

The marketing has yet to be put on paper and the plans are in their infancy.

    Hope this explain it. :)

I think it's a good name. As I just read it for the first time, I already thought about old/antique things to sell. Don't know if I would buy antiques on the internet but I think there are people who do. I think it's a catchy name :) May be in the range of $xx - $xxx.

The value of the domain alone, I would rate reg fee. It is a .net, while even the .com wouldn't be that amazing. "Old" works for junk from the attic, but I think calling nice antiques "old" doesn't do them justice. Lastly, domains with numbers in them usually don't fetch the prize. The value of the concept remains to be seen, though going up against ebay is obviously a big challenge. Why do you think the niche will work for you, but not on ebay? Not trying to knock you: the domain could be great for the perfect concept. But name alone, I doubt you can land a whale.

You mean Sold too by It's Old. It goes repetitive. Isn't?

May be you didn't find suitable old2sell.net one. :D

Exactly. Old for works for junk! People have yard sales all the time and sell old and sometimes junk. Old2Sold has many possibilities (e.g., old car parts, antiques, jewelry, cars, trucks) and the market is a niche so I won't be competing with ebay. In addition, Ebay is an auction site this is a revved up classified. Ebay is great and there's no competing; however, Old2Sold you have one price and a niche' market.

    Thanks.

No! I have sold domains and it's a catchy phrase. Look at Groupon, catchy...but going down hill fast. It's all about content too. Groupon started as a wordpress site ..just like Old2Sold.net

As a website for a ebay trading assistant, it has some value. But not much more then $100 in my opinion. You're going to have to dump some real cash into it if you want to create a auction site that has some traction.

Oh I agree, dumping money into this will be the solution to make it successful. I don't ship the product, so I'm sure the site would be nullified to the laws if we are not shipping. We will have NOTHING to do with the transactions. Between buyer and seller.

I like the name because it tells the consumer EXACTLY what he or she is expecting. Maybe you're looking antique, old car, parts to an old car, washer, dryer and more. Have you been to the Salvation Army store or AMVETS? Wow.

I could pick trash (on trash day) and find all sorts of goodies to be sold on this site.

    Thanks.

Attraction and a Niche' site. The name is straightforward and relevant to what can (or is) to be sold. It's like a second chance for merchandise. I know many people who look for junk at some well to do neighborhoods and find great stuff. Junk day!

I can see this type of merchandise on Old2Sold to be sold. LOL.

I agree to an extent; however, content and domain are part of the equation. Marketing is huge, but not always the cardinal solution. A catchy domain is always nice. It will take money to market this domain to a point were it can be self sufficient. This will take sometime and I'm willing to move forward with the right team and maybe investor (s).
