The thread is meant for the discussion of Google Panda updates that are significantly changing the habits of search engines. Many sites are getting raised and many are dropped. Discuss your issues, recovery and anything related to Panda.

Their have been updates happening in the Google algorithm in significant way from the beginning if 2011. One of my site never got affected by these sort of things as the content is all unique and worth the views. The site is 2 years old now and has gained a decent organic traffic in the year 2011 but on 14th Oct, the things dropped more than 50%. The reason behind it I guess were:
    - The updation of my wordpress platform that included update of plugin called "keyword density checker" which injected a noindex code in all pages. That helped the search engine to deindex my site and the pages were dropped from 1000 to 250. I noticed it a month ago and corrected and now it's over a month. The pages are indexed but still the traffic not at place.
    - The second reason I guess is the Panda update which took place on 13th Oct. I'd sold a link too around 10th Oct which I guess Google penalized through the Panda update.
I am still fighting to gain traffic by posting new articles, making links though article submissions, social bookmarking but still I see no improvement. One more thing I got is the up gradation of PR2 to PR4. It's a strange case as the things are legit and the problem is minor but is still slapped by Google. I am really suffering through all this as the hard work is getting a lot punished.

Then what is the reason, is it that "noindex" tag or the selling of link or something else that I am not noticing. The drop is huge from about 600 visitors to now only 250 visitors and that has affected the adsense earnings too.

Google panda is like a filter. if your site don't have any brand tag or some popular brand name then you will be damaged and if you have so then your site will be protected from any kind of complexity :)
    Because Google Love Brands :)

I agreed and yes of course your site would not be affected if you don't copy and paste others content renamed by you. So take your steps carefully before copying.

One of the sites that have been hit heavy were affiliate sites especially sites that low number of content. Like site that have 600 less words in their content. Micro niche sites will be going down the hill. I think for now google is focusing on Authority sites. Sites have a lot of content in it.

I believe some well done sites have gotten affected but it's only supposed to be temporary and ultimately things should bounce back up if the site does provide quality work.

google panda is the most legal and smart version of google. it is eliminating the power quality sites and punishing sites which are using black hat techniques and duplicate contents. i love google panda.
