For me is more important the Rankings in SERPS But for selling links i think it's good for sale and olso with a higher PR you get spiderd by search engines more ofthen ...
Well I spelled it wrong here . But my point is with a little PR, you can still get top positions. Having PR7 or more does not guarantee you the top spot.
You are right if the term your chasing has no value such as "Pink kats that Swim in the middle of the desert at night" Kats is done purposely But if you are talking about a competitive terms like "loans" You will rarely see a site with PR0 on first page of the serps The only exception to this is if a new page is sponsored so to speak by an extreemly high ranking page Take the term "SEO" Highly competitive third result has no PR but it is suported by the mighty G & will likely end up with PR5 + on the first update. with a higher PR you get spiderd by search engines more often this is also a great point W3BMaster p.s alpalino great pic you have
the meaning of pr has never changed and never will. it is the last thing to worry about in optimization. a pr7 link from a site which has shoes won't help very much if your page is about baseball. now if it's a sport related page and you have a link on that pr7 page, that's better. if that same pr7 page specifically talks about baseball, then that's as good as you can get with a link pointing back to your site. pr only works if the page is relavant to the page it links out to or you'll be shelling out some $$ for links you don't really need and/or want. oh yeah, and p updates in the toolbar about every quarter. so look at dec/jan for next one.
Peoples usually buy link not to drive much of traffic to their site from the link but to optimize their website for petter search rank in SERP. So, if a link buyer have the above intention he wont buy lower pr link, otherwise your situation may be considered.
