Why do recommend disabling validation. I can't handle automatic submissions right now, too busy.

It usualy takes a couple of days/weeks before automated submissions start coming in. In my case, I seem to get about the same amount of automated submissions whether validation is on or off.

This goes for all directories, but even much more so if you want to make revenue from featured listings, charge for listings in the future, etc. It just doesn't make sense. Why would you want to put up a road-block for people who want to send you money? If someone types it wrong, gets aggravated, and leaves, that's less income for you. That's the main thing you should be thinking about. As for me, though, I just don't submit to directories that use image validation very much (unless the directory is already very important or such). I consider it a waste of time when it could be better spent on submitting to the many directories that do not use image validation. There is certainly no shortage of directories. No matter how easy the image validation is, it takes more time to submit to directories with image validation, especially for those of us who submit 25 or more listings to every single directory we work with. I'm not the only one who feels this way too.

 

I use image validation because of crazy people like mystikmedia!!!

LOL... I'm sorry but I couldn't avoid laughing on this one.
Image validation is annoying to people that are looking to submit many websites. I have like 10 or so I typically submit and when I see that lovely validation I tend to "put on hold"...

 

Exactly. I have 25 that I submit to every directory. If the directory allows subpages, I submit up to 60, depending on the categories the directory has.

I was inspired to remove validation from www.TheCommercialDirectory.com
TheCommercialDirectory.com it is not a free directory until I catch up on free submissions, but all paid submissions will be expedited to 24 hour inclusion, I usually add them instantly.
