Starting a new blog - any essentials to do?

Hi,

Blogging is very new to me, I have created a blog but want to check if there is anything I should do before I really get going?

Any particular blog directories to submit too, or sites to ping to after posting new content?

Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

Right now , do only one thing i.e. to index you blog content quickly into search engines.. For that
Do following for your new content:
1. write comment on High PR blogs in your niche. (google it) and submit it manually put your link into website textbox.
2. Submit your blog to social bookmarking sites (use onlywire, BMD or outsource it)
3. RSS feed submission, ping blogs etc.
4. Make a facebook page probably.

Plzzzzz dont do following..
Mass commenting by scrapebox or similiar tools.
Mass backlinking by article submission rtc...

Rule is for first few months , avoid direct mass backlinking , coz it will throw u in sandbox..... Indirect linking is always welcome..

 

Submit your blog to social bookmarking sites
And start some forum posting for advertising or even other blog commenting

All you need to do is advertise

 

I would concentrate on daily unique content, any visitors you are getting you want to keep them coming back.

Also advertising your site through a forum signature will help. Remember your anchor texts!

 

1st make sure you have a proffesional blog design, then start learning seo and how to generate traffic. Submit your blog rss feed to several rss directories. Also look into viral traffic exchanges. I hope this helps. OH, and begin to build a social media following.

 

and yea dont forget that the topic of blog (keywords) is the foremost important thing to take care of, if you pick a topic of high competition , then you may work very hard to get traffic, and you may end up in giving up....
As you are starting , be very careful . Dont start with very high competing niches.

Knows the basic. You can never go wrong with that.

You should prioritize content over SEO. You have to be a value blogger first to invite more visitors. If you're more into SEO while your site is empty, you'll have a disappointed visitors who might read nothing from your blog. So, write more no less.

1) know what your niche.niche is about your strength, passion.
2) use paid blog like wordpress.org.
3) your content must be unique not copy from other blog.
4) knows current issues.

for traffic

1) blog commenting... keep in touch with other blogger.
2) submit your blog post to facebook and twitter.
3) use social bookmark for more traffic

 

Definitely, unique content is first priority for the blog. Apart from that design of the blog also essential. You must design your blog according to the topic of the blog that you have choose. Always, do the pinging once you have posted any new content to your blog.

Furthermore, blog commenting and Blog Feed submission (Atom in case of blogger) will helpful to make you blog long lasting with good image.
