I currently have a domain of mine pointing to another website under another domain. My question is will search engines still crawl my masked domain or am I better off at a free host?

They will crawl it as people said above but exactly similar sites are not the favorites of google

But don't underestimate the power of branding the better domain name.

you mean google would penalise your domain for harbouring an identical site? If so, will the target domain be penalised too?
