Hi Friends, Recently I have launched my new website in opencart and made it search engine friendly like; I have used proper keywords in metatags, content, heading tags, interlinking, footer and also I have made site map for this, as per SEO point of view I have made my website search engine friendly. But when I search in search engine for seen my web pages like; site:example.com the search engine provide me proper pages but instead of this when I search same website like; site:www.example.com the search showing error or not provide me website pages in search engine. I did one mistake I have added my website in Google Analytic and Google Webmaster tool with www, so I just want to confirm that it will be effect on tracking my website or is this rest for me. I am waiting your attention for this, Thank you.
The good news is that Google Analytics tracks *pages* and not domains. As long as your pages have tracking code on them, Google Analytics will report on them no matter what domain they are served from. You can change your Website URL by clicking "Edit" next to the profile in question on the Analytic Settings page.
just add also your site with www, you don't need to place the meta tag again, just click on verify and it will automatically will. Than go to settings and set your preferred domain settings to with www. You actually need to add both with and without www to set this up anyway
This is called canonical issue, Google consider page name with www and without www as separate entity. So you need to decide first how you would like to show your pages in search results, with or without www? Then setup your domain name preference accordingly in Google webmaster. let say you select your website with www (www.example.com) Then you need to redirect (301) your non-www url to www version. http://example.com to http://www.example.com (301 redirection)
