What is an unique article? quality content is vital for seo, but if I modify few words, or rearrange the structure of other articles, will that a bad practice? how about I translate other language to become my article?
Google doesn't like spun crap being posted everywhere. If you just want the link and you don't care about what google thinks go for it. But if you want google to respect your site don't use them at all.
After the recent Panda update, Google is being more severe to these duplicate articles. One thing I should make clear that Google emphasizes on Natural link building. So when you are publishing one spun article to different article directories, it is obviously not a good way for Link building from the point of view of Google. You should concentrate on other ways of link building and there are many. Article Marketing is Dead and if you still continue to do so your ranking will be badly affected.
HI yes is does its is also duplicate content so be original, post only one article on one site, and never use same content for different websites.
According to me content is the king.And quality content is a vital role for seo.If you modifies some content in other and recreate your article, its really bed practise for you.Avoid this practise.You can refer many sites for idea but do not copy.If your content are really very unique and informative information, then its really beneficial for your site.
It is not possible to write all the time new article for new article submission directory... so what is the alternative?
i think google have many experiences bots to measure of quality content in the website. they can know with certainty through the level of bounce rate a website[TABLE] [TR] [/TR] [TR] [TD][/TD] [TD="width: 50%, colspan: 3"] [/TD] [/TR] [/TABLE]
Article spinning software may change the content to a little bit but it is considered not a very followed and opted technique to post article in different article directories.. Ping your articles to different social networking pages of your business profile to have updates to the user..!!
If your content is appreciably similar to the original source, Google will discover it. You have to tweak it effectively (somehow) to escape from Google's filter. This is certainly not a bad practice because millions of webmasters are doing this. For translating articles into other language you can use Google translator. For, Google translated content is not duplicate.

from my own experience i can definitely say that if you copy content form any recognized or not copy write protected blog site and put a back link to their site then Google will not affect your site but your site will never get a rank for sure.
I cant believe how much bad info is in this thread! Duplicate content only effects content on the same domain. If you have the same content on your website multiple times. This is often the case in wordpress blogs if they are not set up correct. You can end up with two unique permalinks on the same site pointing to the same content. This is duplicate content. www.site.com/premalink1/ www.site.com/permalink2/ And both point to the same original content. This will penalize you everytime. Use google webmaster tools to identify this problem. What way too many people are talking about in this thread is called "content syndication". The act of one article being on multiple sites. It does not penalize you, as a matter of fact if you have a link properly placed it can greatly increase your SERP. Think about how many news websites carry the same article. Almost all sports news website pull in syndicated feeds, celebrity news sites, you name it. If you are trying to gain SERP advantage from articles you can easily post the same article on multiple sites just dont blast it out with software to a million sites. Same with press releases, you can write one version and it will go across multiple sites real fast. We wrote one press release for a client and it was picked up by over 100 websites giving us over 100 quality links back to the clients site. The reason why Ezine and other article directories like original content is that Google will reward their site for having unique and fresh content. If you are only after backlinks you can use the same article on multiple directories.
I think you have not noticed that those sites present the same story in their own style, with unique tweaking, which is completely different from publishing same article/press release to tons of websites. Although it was considered a decent techniques to boost SERP previously but after the Panda , the scenario completely changed. It is no longer considered as good technique. You can refer to the Feb publication of Google blog for more clarification. It is been clearly mentioned there.
Don't bother with it... when was the last time you seen an article directory in search results? You don't see them anymore... directories, articles directories, link directories... they're all link farms and thank fuck they are disappearing from results... the alternatives are simple - submit content to your own fkn site... it's that simple - it really is.
The search engines are trying to avoid cluttering the web with duplicate content, it's a waste of their resources, an frustrating for the searcher
