Hi, I'm a new to the world of domain buying and selling. I have a couple of domains I have had for a while but never get the time to sit down and work on the plans I had for them... "c y c l i n g . o r g" "c y c l e r y . c o m" Could you give me some help... -on current value range for each of these ? -recommend best way to sell them (either privately or through a recommended online sales organisation) -if you think it is wise to hang on to them for now (if it is a bad time to sell at the moment, if I am better to do something with them when I do get the time)? -best place for info on selling domains Thanks
I think cycling.org is very good, worth thousands for sure. A 1 word .com/.org/.net is always valuable. This particular one is very good, any organization that revolves around cycling in some way or another would like to have that domain. Well done on owning that one, it's an asset.
I agree with .hawaii. Both domains are awesome. There would be plenty of cycling organizations interested in the .org and plenty of cycle shops interested in the .com. cy·cle·ry   [sahy-kuhl-ree, -kluh-] noun, plural -ries. a shop that sells, rents, or services bicycles. Also called cycle shop. In saying that, I'd probably hold on to them for a while, or you could put them on the market, but don't be in a hurry to sell them (hold on to them until you get what you want). If you do want to do something with them (add site/content etc), don't just throw up any old crap like an affiliate/mini site type thing, do it right (would hate to see any long term trust that the domains have acquired over the last 15 years be wiped out because they turned into MFA sites). The .com was first regged in 1995 and the .org in 1994, the wayback machine show them both having sites on them in 1996 and they still have some nice old links pointing at them. http://web.archive.org/web/19961101233423/http://cycling.org/ http://web.archive.org/web/19961018022153/http://cyclery.com/ DNF.com is your best bet. Cheers James
