lots of ways. you could bundle it with adware, etc, which may not sound appealing but could work. you could have the "results" launch in a browser window with ads on them, you could advertise other non-free software you have, etc.

only one I know of offhand is zangocash. you can google search for more. I don't really suggest this route; you're likely to alienate a lot of users.
Yes, payper install could work - like Zango, YourSiteBar, TeddyCash and so on... Also you could ask for a free registration of the software and send a monthly (or weekly) newsletter to your users with information related to your software and include some advertising promoting commercial software... (SMS - associate them with ringtones offers, Videos - you can protect them via pay per install programs - just like software) I hope this helps and good luck!

Please please please don't bundle rubbish with your software. If it's that good, you don't have to do it and you can find a better (think more profitable and more long term) monetisation stream.
That was an example software i used because i have a institute where i teach CCNA. Where student have a good command on solving the CLASS C, CLASS B & CLASS A ip address problem orally. That makes certification exam easy because you save exam time. And i will not put ad in this program which i made for the internet people without any revenue thought. I was very curious to know about a thing like this (ad in app) so i just generally asked. And gaved an example. The value of the application will only be known to the people involving in the certification more over it helps in interview process where 50-60% time the HR ask the question related to IP address. I think this clarification will ok.
