I'm going to release a new SERP Tracking service soon. It started as an internal only suite, but became quite a useful product. I was using the rank tracker in spyglass and market samurai and found both to be frustrating to work with (inaccurate, slow, hard to schedule) Is there an interest for something like that here?
maybe it it uses little cpu resourse, multiple site tracking and not bulky. i think it is a good idea. good luck...
It's designed as a service, running on my dedicated server. You can use from inside of your browser, on any computer (both Windows & Mac obviously) and using very little CPU obviously (as much as your browser needs). It's be interesting to see what you'd like to see in such a service. I've got the basic features down, but still adding more - I'm open to feedback.
Yes, it already tracks keyword serp tracking and let's your chart it. Domain PR (and backlinks) are also collected on a daily basis and will form a chart over time (the changes there are obviously a lot less frequent). Thanks for the feedback. What other features would you guys like to see?
What does it do that the digitalpoint serps tracker doesn't do? Can you set it to update automatically and then just check it weekly (for instance)?
Exactly. It runs on my set of dedicated servers and get updated several times a day. Even if you completely forget about it for two weeks, when you come back there will be a pretty chart waiting for you. In addition to that - it shows you the estimated monthly search traffic along with the estimated $ CPC (it does it by scraping Adwords interface). That way you can decide what keyword is worth targeting in the next link building batch, easily seeing all the variables on a single screen (from any computer).
I rather check it manually... I've been using manual check ever since and its more reliable than any.
Checking it manually is a great option, assuming you have enough time to do it for all your keywords and remember to do it every day. It doesn't give you a chart, but you know where you are. I'm tracking several hundred keywords across a dozen of domains, doing this manually is out of the question for me.
I'm going to post a few screenshots here to give you guys a better idea. I'm still adding features, looking for useful feedback.
