A little trick for sig links in forums.

Some of you might know this and some of you might not but this is a little trick I thought I would share with people who dont know.

As well all know a lot of admins hate spammers in the forums, so what i've been doing is creating an account and setting up my sig link and made a few posts, if an admin says something, I remove the link from my sig ASAP. Now, give it a few days or weeks, depending on how busy the forum is, let your posts fall to the 2nd or 3rd page and go back in to the user CP and put your link right back in the sig and now all your posts will have your link in it again without anyone noticing you put it back. :D

I've done this quite a few times and all my links are still up.

    Happy posting! :)

Maybe you have been welcome by them already.

Forum websites are getting more and more everyday.

Maybe not too many new members register everyday...

Instead of wasting time registering , posting and then waiting for month to get a un targetted internal page link which in not even relevant , better write some good content or go for dir/article submissions.

Actually they're all relevant links. As of now I have 12 sig links in 12 relevant forums. Best of all, cost me nothing :)

    Hey - every link counts!

I am not so sure :)

Make a blog post or write an article, much more valuable and less trouble...

Why not just join forums where signatures are allowed :D

    Yawn.

    This is getting boring now.

Sig links do help serps, try it yourself. Do you have evidence which suggests they have no effect?

Why not just make helpful posts? If you make good posts nobody will accuse you of being a spammer no matter what your sig says.

That works just as much. You still need advertising or the word of mouth to let people know about yourself... not that I support the OP

Any examples of sites ranking in google on the basis of sig links?

Spamming to get sig links will get you nowhere in google.

What do you mean too much work? It is not that much work to make good posts, as long as you know what you're going on about of course.

Just my opinion but I think sig links help, especially in forums like this when anything business related may get a click - and its free and only takes two minutes ot insert. It may not help SE ranking but may provide direct traffic.

    Regards.

I get a handfull of hits from sig links. Its not enough for me to register with forums just for that reason, but on my regular forums, if I have enough posts it gets me some traffic - I get about 5- 10 uniques from DP and one other webmaster forum, both with around 100 posts.

In my experience the sig links seem to help in MSN but I haven't noticed anything with Google.
