Hi connectmobiles, which series of MACS are you refering to? I heard that the new batch of MAC with INTEL chips are having over-heating problems.
oic.. then it should be the new series. Maybe MAC have not come out with a method to cool the processor due to long hours of usage.
Its called a cooling fan . Guess they shouldent have skimpted on the cooling systems. One would think a 6 grand machine would run like an Ice Box
What exactly is this $6K Macintosh that you guys are talking about? Or are you just exaggerating the price by, oh, more then double? Macs kick ass, if you don't know how to use one, can't afford one or prefer IBM that's fine, but they far from "suck".
Hi ViciousSummer, we have nothing against MAC.. we are just discussing the over-heating issue. =) I believe that you do know how to use a MAC and its good for you. By the way, do you have any over-heating issue with your MAC?
No I have never had a problem with any of my Macs overheating (nor have any of the 10+ people that I know that use Macs). Some iBook batteries were recalled this year, but mine was not effected. Do you have a Macintosh and has it ever over-heated?
Mac's are sweet looking, but they don't seem to get the job done for me. I mean Mac's are great for graphic editing, but they can't really play games all that much and they seem to overheat a bit. PC's all the way!
Hi ViciousSummer, I do not own a MAC but I heard from my friend saying that the new series of MAC get over-heated easily since he used it before.
I hate the desktop design and concept of Mac computers. The lack of a right-click on the mouse is also something that I'm not a fan of.
It depends on what you're using it for. It's not like Mac is adding gold plating and a stripper pole to the computer, for an extra few grand. You're getting mega memory, extra hard drives, lightening fast processors, etc. Remember, you get what you pay for.
Too true. That extra cash (on my iMac anyway) is saved in the long run, by being able to work more without crashing problems. My sister got a pc about the same time 4 years ago, and has had no end of problems. That rainbow thing is also know as the Spinning Pizza Of Death. (S.P.O.D for short).
Sound cool... Maybe I will get a MAC next time. By the way, what's the major difference between a PC and MAC? Are there any special attributes which attract people to use PC and MAC?
Take a look at this... its been floating around for a couple of years but I see someone put it on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqN76gYKHMs
Do it! I have a MacBook Pro, and it's great. Me, too. I have found Safari to be rock-stable — unlike Internet Explorer. My personal experience on that is: yes, my MacBook Pro with the Intel chip gets uncomfortably hot. My Logitech mouse that I use with the Mac does have a right click. But it only offers limited right-click functions — "View Source" ... "Save Page As" ... and "Print Page".
