    Hi there,

    Below is the tex in my htaccess form. Currently my site domain is www.dumpsterrentaldisposalbins.com. I want it
    so that it is http://www.dumpsterrentaldisposalbins.com. I understand that something in the htaccess has to be
    edited. Can someone edit it form me so that it works for all browsers. Just cause on firefox i get it as
    www.dumpsterrentaldisposalbins.com and on IE I get it as http://www.dumpsterrentaldisposalbins.com.

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^dumpsterrentaldisposalbins.com
    RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.dumpsterrentaldisposalbins.com$1 [L,R=301]

    Thanks

    What version of Firefox are you using? I know my current version (8.0.1) hides http:// on the address bar, but if you copy and paste the URL it is shown.

    Just to clarify, rename your htaccess and try again, if it still happen it might be some bug in your browser.
    Does it happen on other sites as well?. I persoanlly have never heard of a issue like that and it would be rare that it does this in one browser but not the other if such function does infact exist. I see it more like Karl. Chrome has the same function

    That is modern browser functionality. properbly a method to shorten long urls, or to give standard to domain displaying, i dont know. But its like Karl said, once you copy what stands in the url and then paste it again, you see the http:// , then upon hitting enter it gets stripped off the display again
