Ok so I spend about 30 minutes writing something for a forum...the server is down for a few minutes so I just have to wait to post it. Open up another window....

....Firefox decides to be nice and crash. I lose the post and now I have to rewrite it.

    Never buy a Mac, lol.

And I just realized I posted this in the wrong forum :).

And what does Firefox have to do with Macs? That's like saying that Ford sucks because the aftermarket Sony stereo you installed in it broke.

The Macintosh browser is Safari and it has never crashed on any of my Macs. ;)

But when people say Mac's don't crash....You know thats straight bs right? ;)

Don't you just hate it when Mac's freeze up and all you see is that stupid rainbow pinwheel spinning?...

That just drives me absolutely insane...

I use Safari on Mac, Firefox on Windows/Linux....

    Safari is really nice...

I wish they'd port it to windows soon :D

I can honestly say that I can't remember any of my Macs ever crashing and I've used Macs almost daily for over 10 years. Occassionally I have had programs freeze up (the spinning rainbow pinwheel :)...), but that doesn't happen that often and it's easily fixed. Just go to the Apple menu and force quit whatever program is frozen.

All you've proven here is that you have a crummy Firefox browser and that you are a total n00bie when it comes to computers, or you would know it was FireFox that crashed and not the computer. :D Yes, I've had Firefox crashes, no, my OSX hasn't crashed because of it being a crummy computer. It's crashed once, and I think it was my fault, and I've have had a few kernel attacks, but they were from programs. The only time crashing was common for me because of the computer was back in the OS 9 days, where you got the kiss of death bomb message.

Hey, Macs are not bad they are just different :) The major drawback is the lack of software for Macs, which sometimes is a very crucial for some tasks.

I've had AIM crash on me about 100+ times. I've also had about every program crash once. Last week my FTP program crashed about 10 times in a row. My entire system crashed and it wiped out like 1/2 of the stuff on my hard drive.

I have a MAC at home and it's great. It's never crashed on me but I can agree the rainbow spinning wheel is kind of annoying.

well I have an iMac as well as a pc, MAC all the way...i don' think macs are for the average joe. I don't find it to be user-friendly at all...and when you get it, it's like you have to learn all over again...it's annoying at first but once you are used to it, you will love it...well i do anyways. My only isse rightnnow is that sites who play windows media type videos cannot be viewed on Safari...

    That's about it.

I use a MAC at work. I am a graphic designer, and dont understand why people love these machines so much, programs crash on a daily basis. It isent much faster then my PC at home, in fact my PC boots much faster. This isent a old MAC either, its a new dual core. They do make very nice monitors though. If you want to spend 6g on a computer go ahead. But id much rather have a 1500 PC with the same hardware :)
