Which one is better for SEO?

I am about to create a blog in wordpress platform but i am bit confused about the SEO effects it will have regarding the URL. Which one will be better and faster ranked by Search Engines?
http://www.mysite.com/blogs or http://blogs.mysite.com. Need suggestions from geeks regarding this filed!!!

I think http://blogs.mysite.com is better for search engine bcoz this is sub-domain and sub domain is like a website and it promote for main domain. And sub domain is like a separate domain and its promotes easily and many keywords.

 

If you have the keyword on your Blog Name / Title, then the second option will be useful for the SEO.

As per mine experience mysite.com/blogs is best because as per crawling by Google your home page with inner page those are also indexing. Its beneficial 4 you..

 

You can do blog, put fresh content and more interesting to your blog, it will attract more visitor to your page and give some comments, this will helpful to have a good result in serp, but other link building techniques are also useful and effective like social bookmarking, article, and forum.

THankx everyone for replies guys. @sisatel, yah i am gonna use my optimized and researched keywords in my blog like blogs.mysite.com/keyword1.php or mysite.com/blogs/keyword1.php etc. So, in this case, the second will be ranked faster right? I am asking this question cz , i have seen in some article that, google has a different view in ranking main domain with subpages and subdomain with subpages...

 

Well, it depends on your goals, the first option will just be considered as the part of existing website and the second option would be considered as new domain, completely different fro mysite.com.

However, if you are looking for higher alexa rank, high no. of indexed pages as search engines loves big websites as long as they are frequently updated with fresh and unique content. Because the traffic visiting the blog will be considered as websites traffic.

In second case, as it is a separate domain, and you can get some quality backlinks and link juice, but that too is only possible if you host your blog on different IP as 100s of links from the same IP will be counted as only one. Even C Class IP should also be different.

Traffic would remain same in both cases and whosoever visits your website from www.mysite.com/blog can also visit your website by blog.mysite.com as well.
