Come on folks lets see some more selections, we need good feedback so we can get a poll started where you can vote for your selection but we need at least 10 quality directories that can be added to the poll

DMOZ and Yahoo are very good I think.

 

Alive and Aviva should be on the list. I also think UmDum is quite attractive, and should be there.

However, there are so many, and everyone has a different idea of what is best. Perhaps you should separate it out into categories: best promotion, best design, best category structure and usability, best free, best paid, and so forth.

If we're just talking about general directories, perhaps there should be certain minimum criteria for entry. Such as, it has to have a minimum number of sites listed, otherwise you get everyone suggesting their own brand new directories, and it just gets out of hand.
