Does asking for an interview break spam laws?

If I email someone asking them if they would like to be featured in an interview on my blog, does this break spam laws? I'm in the United States. All I really want to do is email the person and say: "Hi, I admire your business. I would like to interview you for the readers of my blog. Do you accept?"

If they accept, interview them, and place it on my blog.

I can't really see why this would be illegal Although I think you should add more then just "I like you business" You should introduce yourself and what you do and then ask for an interview (Be professional)

As long as you send it once I think you should be fine cause sending one email isn't spam.. if you ask me

I was thinking it is legal because I'm not trying to sell something. I think if I try to sell you something, even one email is considered spam.

You can send a personal email to anyone you want and it is not illegal.

If you sent it out to 30,000,000 people, then yes, you'd be a spammer
