I've been struggling with this for 2 days and I give up. I would so much appreciate if someone can help me. My website is http://www.yupedia.com and the theme that I'm using is... http://fearlessflyer.com/2011/02/free-wordpress-theme-maximum/ What I desperately want to do is change the way people comment. For example if you go to one of my posts... http://www.yupedia.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-mortgages-in-france.html ...you will see that the way people post is the standard wordpress way. I want to change that into something that looks like the commenting on this site for example... http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-shear-wall.htm It would mean so much if I can change the way people comment and make it the same as in wisegeek.com Thank you, Trajko
You will need to edit your comments.php file and some css edits to get it to work. Bear in mind wisegeek doesn't use wordpress and each CMS has their own framework.
Well, to get the 'exact' way to work, will take customizing the plugin. There are many factors. The layout, the functionality (ex: register/login/login with facebook) and so on. So what exact aspects do you want to implement? Go to wordpress.org and check for 'social login' plugins you'll find many that you can use. Once you find the right plugin then tweak the layout.
Yes, that is possible. There are lots of plugins out there to change the way of commenting... livefyre is a favorite one of mine, you can check it out from my personal blog http://blog.ssanchy.com/ And you can get it from here http://www.livefyre.com/plans/
My blog uses Livefyre, and I've actually gotten more comments and interaction since switching to it. I previously tried Disqus, but ran into sync issues. Livefyre's tech support is much better: they'll really work hard to answer any questions or help you out if you have trouble.
