We don't live under the Old Testament, how can (Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth) apply to us? Today we live under the New Testament therefore we must follow the New Testament laws:

The people of the Old Testament were primitive, cruel, and revengeful; the Old Testament was speaking to them in their own language, that's why there are verses like: eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, etc. Read this passage:

Old Testament without the New Testament is heartless and cruel;
New Testament without Old Testament is passive and weak.
