How to make a secure forum using WordPress?

Hi everybody, I'm working on my site using WordPress. Just wonder how to make a forum (secure forum) cause I'll add it on my site.
Is BBPress / BuddyPress quite secure for building a forum using wordpress? If not, what can I do for make it more secure?
If yes (I mean BBPress / BuddyPress quite secure), which one better?
Actually I had visited some sites offering paid forum plugin, but unfortunately for a student like me, my budget is very limited.

You won't have security issues with bbPress as long as you keep your installation updated and apply the latest patches.

Or you can try mybb but as long as you have backups your safe will be 95% safe backups help out alot.

 

You can install an SSL certificate for more secure authentication.
