It don't make a difference. Adwords customers bid on the ads spot so either one can be higher or lower than each other at any time. Which ever is higher at the time will be displayed. Some ads may do better as far as getting clicks. Arcade sites and movie sites do good with image ads while most others do better with text ads.
"it depends" - Ñ•orrу I cоuldn't hеlÑ€ being a smarty pants. I uѕе а combo, however, on onе оf оur оther advertisers, thе text links аrе clicked оver the image lÑ–kе 300 tо 1. It mаy bе that people are uѕеd tо text links аnd just fоllowing them where аs thеу јuÑ•t dоn't realize уou Ñаn click the image ads. I use thе combo in Adsense ѕіnce thе advertisers do create somе quitе attractive ads. I have just nеvеr bothered tо test it. The other ad network wе uѕе (Chitika) hаѕ a small thumbnail next to thе text. Those ads werе pretty well also.
depends on the niche, for example entertainment or game related niche work better with image ads you gotta try them out to find the best for your site
It dosnt make much diffrence for me they both pay roughly the same If i were you id experiment with both and see which works best for you .
Its purely dependent on niche of the website. Text adverts are not forced upon surfers. But Text adverts are also cheaper for the advertiser to create. A graphically designed advert may cost in excess of $200. It is helpful in brand promotion. The big brands are willing to advertise in both formats however the broad market appeal of text inevitably makes it the winner. As flash websites disappear with image adverts, it is becoming clear that text and information is the preference of the website users.
How are they the same to Google? They don't make the same for each. every ad has a different price. Image is not better than text for every niche. as a matter of fact there not for many niches...
Across all of my sites the average comes out to this: CPC (highest payout to lowest): Text Rich Media Image Flash Animated Image CTR (highest click rate to lowest): Image Text Rich Media Flash Animated Image Obviously different types of sites will have different results, but between all of the sites that I own there's a pretty even ratio between written-content sites and visual/media rich sites so I would assume that my results are pretty average. As you can see, my visitors tend to click on images the most. With that in mind, it might seem that you should only enable image/rich media ads, but text based links pay the most for my sites. Factoring CPC and CTR together it has always seemed to be the best option--for me, at least--to enable both image and text.
I have an automotive site and it's the exact opposite. I removed images ads because in testing they were not getting hardly any clicks at all but when I switch back to text only its getting 150-200 per day. but like you said, different site have different results. OP needs to test everything and see what works best for his site.
it's different from one site to another and one template to another some sites is v.good with text ads and others is better with image ads, it depends on your site and what it is talking about also template is such a very important thing to care about and 2nd step in deciding which type of ads you can use
You guys should member the topic and type of you sites. I think that has a lot to do with it and would be more helpful for all. eg: Topic: Hobby Toys Type: Forum Best performing = image/media eg: Topic: Politics Type: Blog Best performing = Text
If you place the ads unit between text (on blog post), text ads will give you a goog revenue. Because you can blend the ads with other text easily.
