Hi everyone, Social media marketing is a combination of Internet marketing with social media like blogs, social networks, microblogging. The objectives vary according to the company or organization, but most cover how to create a viral marketing idea, brand positioning, to be more present and sell a product.
I found that the best thing is to "get out of your head" and just try stuff. It doesn't matter if its perfect or successful...you learn most just by doing.
To be quite honest, I think DP is phenomenal for the beginner to internet marketing. I stick around and answer questions like these primarily just to give back to the community I learned so much from. However, as I progressed I found that real experience is worth a ton. Until I really got out there and started doing some of the stuff on my own, I really didn't know what I was in for and what was worthless. Some of the topics and suggestions I've read here were bogus, not intentionally, but because they were new to the game too. Don't accept everything you read as fact, but eventually you have to take a step out on your own and start testing things on your own to figure out what works and what doesn't work. In essence though, I think if you are "starting to learn marketing" you are in the right place and you should test out the things you read here. Don't give up, but don't hold onto a site as if it's your baby. I've got more failures than successes under my belt to be quite honest, but I've always learned from them and I think I do pretty well for myself at this point.
