Guys, I have a website where I can redirected non-www version to www version of my site. When I search in Google with the keyword info:www.mysite.com retrieves correct details. However when I search in Google with info:mysite.com, it doesn't show up any thing except Sorry, no information is available for the URL <my URL> I have added both www and non-www version to my Google Webmaster tool. Not sure what is going on wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
In your Google Webmaster, did you enter both the www version and the one without www? If you haven't, do that and then choose a preferred domain. By doing that, Google will only use the one you choose and any links, etc going to either will count under the one you chose. Hope that makes sense.
Guys, I have mentioned it above. I have added both www and non-www to GWT and has set www version as preferred version.
This problem is not from your end, You should keep looking into it and soon Google will show you correct info. And it doesn't need to solve canonical ISSUE before checking info:example.com or info:www.example.com .
this discussion is alternately about domain extension results - seem to whole focus on the WW versus the URL brand name extension needs to be targeted on your articles and then work social media where your links are being posted about your products and services ----- make sure you update your website's domain name using the proper social bookmarking services such as twitter.com and Facebook.com also using ping.com ----- as far as search engine optimization goes
Ha, it was my bloddy mistake. I had non-www version redirected to www version by 302 redirection. That is temperory redirection. This was the mistake. I found this and changed to 301, which is permanent. And the info: issue got resolved. Google is so quick in rectifying this.
