My site's sql database size is 250 MB and my site is running well. I recommend you to change your host and hostgator is bet of all. You write that you have over 36000 scripts. it means that your site is using too much disk space and it is not allowed on shared servers. try to move your scripts or buy a VPS instead of shared hosting. VPS is costly and may be difficult for you to buy it.
