Hello everyone, I have been working hard on a wordpress site. The annoying thing is im new to wordpress and im not very used to it yet either, so if you have any tips or anything like that which you can tell me then that would be really appreciated, also if you have any SEO tips/plugins you'd recommend then go ahead. Anyway, what do you think I should do to it before launching it? Personally I think it looks too plain, what do you think I should do to it to make it more attractive and all round better? Maybe consider masking your affiliate links. And I think the plain look is coming from it being quite empty - particularly the sidebar, maybe some links or pages you could put on the sidebar?
Hm, could do that but it makes it even more obvious I think. I am working on the sidebar, not sure what widgets to put their yet. But some don't look very good so I am going have to test somethings out.
First of all, you're working with a generic theme. I suggest you go to theme forest and invest 15$ to 20$ on a good theme you can work with. The site looks pretty empty and the colors don't really fit with Fiverr. Go to Fiverr and take a look at their color scheme and choose a theme with similar colors so it is coherent. From my point of view, your site needs a lot of work.
Just took a look at your site and personally thought it looked pretty good. I would say it looks a bit bare but that will obviously change when you add some more content. You could possibly add some affiliate banners down the side and maybe a cloud widget with your tags on it, think they look pretty cool. Also definitely needs some social element to the blog, Facebook, Twitter and the new Google +, plus you could have a Facebook badge and Twitter follow link. Overall though looking good. Knowlsey.
Thanks alot for your feedback. I am currently still working on the widgets so hopefully I can find some good ones. Also, I am going to make a fb page related to the site soon aswell as add some affiliate banners! Thanks. And MR Wright, could you suggest any good premium themes?
Different themes are made for different purposes, rather than asking somebody else for an attractive generic theme, you're better off searching theme shops for wp themes that were specifically designed for your niche, however nothing beats a custom designed theme.
