Paypal chargeback

Hello All

A person tell me to create advertising script and he will pay me $2k
After getting payment i start creating script
I create script sucessfully but now he say the script is not good.. he pay only $1k for this script and he say refund $1k or he will open chargeback in pp for $2k


Now what i do

plz help me i am in trouble

 

for intagible goods, you have no protection

 

Thats means now i do nothing

I need to refund $1k

 

I suggest to ask why he is doing this.IF script has probems,modify script as per his choice.IF he wants money back,refund him as paypal doesnt provide buyer protection and he will win.for big payments always use escrow

 

I already withdrawn all money now i have no money in pp
if i close my pp then wat happen

 

If so,he can't get the money back

 

If the account is not importance for your sales reputation, you can do it.
But see who will work with you in the future.

 

Find out why he is unhappy. If you are at fault, you are morally and legally obliged to rectify it. If you ignore this, he'll probably sue you. After all, $1k is worth a bit of trouble.

 

If he is in another country he 'can' sue you, but the odds are he won't. He would have to file the case in India since US courts have no jurisdiction in your country, would have to get a lawyer from India (or pay an arm and a leg for an attorney specializing in his country and yours), and (most likely) have to travel to India. The cost of that is more than the "trouble" $1k is worth. I suggest you just talk to him about getting the script fixed properly so he will be satisfied and you can get the rest of your money.
If he refuses to cooperate, though, your other option is to just close your Paypal account. Assuming he doesn't file a lawsuit (which is the most likely scenario) he will get his refund from Paypal and you will go into a negative balance. Paypal is completely insured so they will just give your information to a local debt collection agency (though I don't know how that works in India) and then you will have to do whatever that agency requires (which may be nothing).

Or he works for Interpol and will sneak into your home at night, drug you, and take you to some French concentration camp and have his way with you.

 

We donot know all the posibilities, but you should do thing right

 

Is there any risk for closing acc and tell me one more thing what is max time limit to open charge back on payment

 

depend on the country legal, I am sure you would be cautch in Singapore doing illegal things for example.
