Best place to look for serious investors ?

    Hey everyone :)

I'd like to ask if anyone knows a good and secure place to look for serious investors and have the ability to pitch them online?

I've seen allot of websites offering to "send your email to 3,000 investors for $99" but I somehow get the feeling it's a scam, or at least not a good way to do it.

I developed a really large project (web-service) in the past year, having a complete perfected business plan and strategies.

It seems very hard to find serious investors and even get your email read...

Any experiences shared will be very appreciated :)

Serious investors will want to meet you face to face before parting with their money. I would never invest with someone simply after chatting with them online.

Well I'm sure after presenting a product to them online, and getting a good chat, if things get serious a face to face meeting can be arranged.

The real problem is finding them online at first :)

Is there a facility to sell part of a website on Flippa or DP? The big web forums will no doubt have a small number of serious investors on them somewhere.

It seems that such places are really hard to find since the crisis and everything.

    I personally doubt it.

The crisis doesn't have that much of an impact on online business, depends on your target audience tho.

    Hi CIScripts,

I have a list of 140 Angel Investors that includes the names, websites, and city/state they are located. These are live angel investors so you stand a good chance to get funding if your business model is good. This is a gig on Fiverr so it will only cost you five bucks bro. Not too shabby :)

PM me if you want the list.

if you have that so promosing business plan, go to a bank and get a loan. otherwise you will have truble getting funding, it's not just an idea/plan, usually they also look for a business in motion that the plan is proven to work, but just needs scalling.

    lol !! I agree with you :D
BTW no one will invest money on any kind of huge or small project, without meeting you personally. So in my opinion you should try out with some local banks or local investors offline ;)

You must be joking. Obviously it does. unless your business niche is some recession-proof niche like porn or beer :)
And obviously DP is not place to look for investors- if you can handle extreme pressure and think your business can scale and go to next higher level, go contact angel investors and VC. If you cannot handle pressure and still not high level enough, better to borrow from friends, family or try to get bank loan. :)

Best way is word of mouth... it already establishes some credibility to you. Ask around

Get some small investors in your area. Make sure that your client will be satisfied with the outcome. And I agree with volico you will get referrals from word of mouth depending on how satisfied your recent customer is.

Also you need to send formal letters and appointments to companies if you really need to get a big one.

I've found only some good investors online. Try going to youngentrepreneur.com. That's where I've found mine in the past.

I raised 100k in the past.

    1. Network, find local entrepreneurs and venture capital events in your area, or if none in your area, go to palo alto
    2. Call up successful entrepreneurs in your industry or related, you'll be surprised at how helpful they are, usually they are pretty greatful and want to give back a bit
    3. Ask your network for introductions
    4. Don't bother raising funds if you don't have a beta version live and functional and users, you won't be taken seriously.
    5. Raise a little bit first, then grow and raise more at a higher valuation
    6. Find the right angel, who adds strategic value, I went with some guys who knew nothing about seo, not a good idea
