Hello, I've got a big CSV file with Jewelry products (category, name, price, desc, image link....) and I am looking for an Easy and Accurate Ecommerce script that will export the CSV data into the ecommerce script.

I am trying out "The Jewelry Shop" template for WP, but seems do damn damn hard to use, and the tools to import the CSV does not work or are too simple

    Thank in advance!!

I would use Magento out of the gate regardless but if you have images the import is fairly straight forward. I have to do it all the time.

Hope that helps.... keep in mind, all carts and csv files are totally different. You have to edit the csv for magento or output 1 product with all options from magneto and then paste the appropriate stuff into that. Either way really.

Thanks Nigel, Magento is a strong solution, but I would like something more "lightweight" because I have several shops, one installation per folder (www.site.com/shop1 , www.site.com/shop2 ...).

Any other script suggestions? Any professional CSV import tool?

That is what the multi store stuff is for in magento. Its not at all logical to keep installing shopping carts in sub-folders all requiring different logins etc. Unless you like working lol... If you can shoot me a link I can be a bit more clear.

I understand what you mean, I spent weeks finding out about the multistore stuff but in the end, its better to have different installations because each CSV is a different world, kinda headache lol

Well, you would simply specify a different store in the CSV file.. That part is easy. Are you trying to operate a "multi-vendor" store? I can not envision a scenario where separate carts in subfolders is useful and it just causes havoc on the server.

My business model is about several online jewelries in subfolders (I'd take x% commission from sellings monthly).

Root directory already has a big portal based in WP, so would be a very big mess adding more WP-stores interated on it (multi-WP is not the answer either).

Therefore, what I believe is the best solution is an Ecommerce script which provides a good CVS widget/tool to import any data without problems. Too hard to accomplish?

well regardless you still have to edit CSV files so i would just make a mall if you will with Magento. Its the polished way to go about it. That said, I would take a look at open cart. http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?t=32652 that page in particular pertains to a mod for better CSV importing. It is on par with Magento but a bit more lightweight and much easier to get around with an actually active community.

    Hope that helps.

You can try AJ Shopping cart script or Zeuscart open source script, Both will support csv export option.. Just give a try.
