My Global Tsee Directory, is PR3 now and was PR3 and PR4 for already 3 years. It uses paid version of phpld, and currently can own around $75/month. If I'm going to sell it, how much I shall ask for?
Not sure for directories but generally for income generating sites the formula for the sale price is 18 to 24 months income i.e. $75 x 18 or 24. There is a lot of variation in this though and other people will give different figures. Personally I think anything under 12 months income is a bargain unless there is a clear reason why revenue is falling or will fall in the next year and the site owner is selling a shinking ship.
The directory contains very little content. I'm also concerned about where the inbound/PR - links are coming from... I'm not sure there is much value here.
A quick search on the other threads suggests this directory may indeed be in the sinking ship category but as with anything its worth what anyone will pay for it - only takes one buyer!
The value of a site or directory is base on number of visitor, PR, income, backlinks and domain age. PR is only one of the general metrics. By submission to estimator site, you can get some general info.
have you try to using estibot and also perhaps you can know much it worth by using Flippa, I know is estibot will not work cause it's for domain but for estimate this one can be your reference, and i think you can sale more higher than $1000 if you can change your template to become more user friendly, i mean good looking. And than you should increase your directory listing.
Typically any website sells for earnings x 3 to 24 months based on the sustainable nature of the revenue model. If you are selling by considering PR then a PR 3 domains sells anywhere between $30 to $80 based on the name, backlinks, age etc.,
Simplified version: What's the weight of a stone? Answer: Every stone is different and has different weight. Domains are like that. Everything is different. Don't segregate on the basis of PR 1. A nice keyword domain with PR 0 would be sold for thousands of $$$$ where as a non-sense PR 7 domain would be sold for few hundreds of $$$. Hope you get it.
the usual price for site flipping is 9 times of the per month earning of the site.. well i am not pretty sure buy one of my friend told me so.
