How many $/month you make from your Forum?

I am very on and off when putting advertising on forums. I try to keep it as simple as possible and only show ads to people who are not logged in. Last month was ok with $546, but after lots and lots of experimentation, we have above-average CPM for forums.

 

Ah good ol' Adsense!

I've really enjoyed spending hours reading about how to do this, how to do that and what not to do (equally as important). A lot of really good replies here already from forum owners so rather than say something crap I'll just say that I've just started seeing figures of $300/month.

to the original thread starter, I would advise on not getting too 'hung-up' or 'involved' with how much others are making cus if you're not making the money you want then of course reading all of this 'success' will probably do your head in even more OR just make you even hungrier which is great!

Everyone's case here is completely different remember, and as everyone whose making some good virtual dollars will tell you, it all takes time nad plenty of research.

That's my tuppence worth..

Oh and one HUGE thing I will share with ALL forum owners is to remember that Adsense IS contextual so forum permissions you set WILL affect what Adsense pulls back on your page.

This is one area that a lot of people don't even think about when enhancing forums with targetted Ads!

On every large forum I see adsense.
Maybe some hosted ads but adsense is the main thing

 

I have not a forum by myself.

But I have more than $50 from my blog in a month.

 

Rich, please can you elaborate on this further.

 

My forum is alive and well but the total earnings from it are much more less than what I get from the main site itself. I wish there's a way to further monetise it.

Absolutely Dave and sorry that I didn;t reply sooner, this one escaped the net so to speak.

In the early days I had the VIEW and READ permissions set to 'Registered' on a lot of my forum sections. This isn't friendly with Adsense as you're basically blocking access for the Google code to actually VIEW your site's content THUS making it impossible for Google to contextually place accurate, related posts back to the page(s).

And I hope that makes sense.

My forum is set to show all forums to reg'd and un-reg'd users so I guess I'm ok.

 

Just set your 'View' & ' Read' permissions to ALL

 

I am new here, i think it is ranging up to more the 10,000 post to have at least 70-150$ great income a month just my insight...

I am not using Adsense Ads in Forum, I am running Adsense Ads in my Website.........

Very difficult to earn from forums. Remember, these people are often return visitors and are not in "buy mode". Even if you have a lot of traffic, you will get a very low CPC. You are better to collect emails and build a list from your forum members for monetization.
