Panda update

    Hi Guys,

I have held top 3 positions for many of my generic keywords for 7 years. However, when the panda update came in a few months ago it hit me hard. I have lost over 7000 visitors. I write unique content, link build organically and all the things that have done me justice in the past. However, nothing i have done works, it seems that google now likes the larger websites like Amazon and they arent a niche seller like my website.

    Im lost :(

Sorry to hear about such a drop, I hope things improve.
It really does seem that the larger sites are creating some kind of monopoly situation.

Umm i read and a very good ebook about this and i renember some things about it.If you are not ranking in the search engines means that you need to do more off-page seo.For me offpage seo its more important than backlinks. What i would recommend to you,if you are using wordpress is to use seopressor. Its not free but its a good tool.Anyways there are some tool similar to Seopressor that are free. You just have to google it.

Well, Google does favor branded or big sites because they are considered as authority websites of the niche.

As far as Panda update is concerned, it has another facet.

Websites which have high quality content get a boost. So, other blogs in your niche might have got the boost and hence you lost your traffic.

I would also recommend you to start doing authority sites with alot of unique content, you wont have problems with the rankings if you do everything good

I totally agree with you,but people keep making little says and pretend to rank

I just want to encourage you to keep building Relationships with real people Who will visit and contribute to your website. I really do not like what google has done recently. clearly they support big brands and they have many more ads on there search results page is now. they even have more white space at the top of there search engine results page is now. google is a corporation now. it is fueled by stock holders and no longer has the small caring group of people reading it as previously. this new dynamic plays into my new strategy with google.

Google Panda doesn't favor brands, but content that your users like or don't dislike as much as other content.

If your users bounce back to Google to search the same thing (if they bounce super fast), then your content is not good enough. They use the bounce metric now in the rankings.

The larger the site, the more difficult it is to maintain all the hardwork that you have done for your site. But on all the Panda data that I have managed to read is that only those sites suffer which are dubious in their link building processes. But still I am sorry for what happened and I hope that things improve.

I have seen that the sites that have suffered from the Panda update are those that have used suspicious techniques that have banned by the Search Engines. Duplicate content and spammy links are the main reasons.
