Hi, I had a steady income from Adsense, but for past two months, it has suddenly gone down and it's now 50% of what it used to be. I recently found out that one of my employees was using my site code and creating a parallel site. Now, my main concern is is it possible that he may have created an Adsense account and switched my code with his on some pages. My website is all on aspx and the code is mostly encrypted. Besides there are lakhs of pages and it's impossible for me to manually do a "View Source" and check the page coding. Any way that I can find this out? Please help.
I have already removed that guy...but I want to make sure my site doesn't have his adsense code. He may be making money from the traffic I get!
Then why don't you FTP to your site and check if another adsense code is present? If you don't know jack about coding then ask one of your teammates to take a look?
if you have many pages on the site and all pages have adsense ads on them, then most efficient way of adding adsense on all pages would be to use php include or service side include where you just upload one file with code in it and all the pages on the site get the code updated. updating the code on every single page one by one is not an efficient way of doing it. if you dont have the capability to change the code just by editing one source code, then you may wanna consider editing your code for future benefit. i would suggest you to talk to a coder
If you know the site of your employee and his adsense publisher id, you can then try your luck with spyonweb.com and if your site pops up while entering his adsense publisher id, it means your doubt are confirmed.. Thank you for reminding me why I never hired an employee to help me with my workload.. Trust.. I have none to start with and with good reason..
I hate to say it, but sometimes the internet is like that. For example, if you have something seasonal like a Christmas gift website (just an example) it is obviously going to be more successful during December than other months of the year. There many factors in play when it comes to the amount of income you generate. Why is it impossible to view source?
oh come on now, business owners don't always know how to do every job in the company, that's why they hire people who can get the job done. The guy is asking for help, why don't you help him if you can? Seems you just want to sh*t on him, why bother spending your precious time here?
Exactly...I don't run a small site and I can't manage it all on my own now. What I have done now is I have taken all FTP upload privileges from the employees and I manage all uploads on my own now.
There are certain things that business owner should never give to their employees, and even if you do, change the passcode immediately after the changes have been effected.
the site's code must never be available for change to the employees majorly Adsense code do remove threat employee as soon as possible and fire him out
Remove all of yours Adsense code from your website and try to add your own adsense code by your self.
You have encrypted the Google code as well? You aren't allowed to do that! If account gets banned will you say you did nothing against rules? Anyway, there are some sites which finds out AdSense publisher id used on a site; try to find out if your site shows multiple AdSense pub ids. Just a simple advise, never allow such ways of working which you can't handle but your employees can! If you let it happen, then its you who's giving others an opportunity to cheat you. How many employees can you remove?
