i think autopiloting sucks because some people rip a google news feed and it's not entirely relevant.

however, if you change the business paradigm, look for unique content (not necessarily your own), aggregate and syndicate it, you can provide value to your readers.

take newspapers and magazines for example.

the internet and TV are much more updated, however old line media has certain advantages, such as greater depth, higher persistency.

so it depends on how you go about it.

if you're doing the same as other sploggers, it wont give any value, but if you switch the paradigm, like what youtube, flicker, and others have done, you'll create value. which is what counts at the end of the day.

Just yanking everyone elses RSS feeds as is does basically nothing to help your site and everything to hurt it. We will be launching something soon for those who are serious about automated blogging on any size scale.

    Cheers.

That's total bullshit. If you republish the whole content, it's definitely a cxopyright infringement unless the author has granted a free to use licence for his/her content and you are asking for a lawsuit.

If you however syndicate the title and description, that's a different thing..

I like the idea of autoblogging & I own rss2blog, it works fine but it's way too expensive & can be replaced with a bunch of free stuff! How I wish I didn't buy rss2blog!

It'll be good if you have a mixture of unique written content & syndicated content.

Anyway just a little shameless plug here:
check out my sig line for a video which shows you how to automate your blogging, no need to buy any expensive software.

I have a program, thats brand new, blows rss2blog out of the water. Really really nice GUI, takes rss feeds in (with images and all), saves them for you, rewrites them, relinks keywords, etc, etc, and posts OUT to as many wordpress/blogger etc blogs that you want. Most of the same funtions as rss2blog but WAY better looking/coded/support.

Unfortunately i cannot post links yet, but you can contact me on ICQ or PM me if you want more info.. 430-412-345

    Your both wrong :) kinda.

The rules and laws are slightly questionable, however in most cases, you would not recieve a lawsuit, your host would be contacted and the content would be taken down by them within a certain amount of time.

Some bloggers will allow you to quote the entire article aslong as yuu give a link back, after all, submit an article you've copied from somewhere else to digg, its not going to get anywhere as soon as people see that the entire article is copied from else where. But they still have a back link.

Other bloggers will expect you to only post a little of the article or rewrite the whole thing and even then some will still have a problem with you posting it

Do some googl'ing, theres no specific law about blog posts being copied :) they piggy back on some other crappy law which makes some sense when you apply it to blogs.

Forgive me for asking, but but what's the purpose of setting up an auto-pilot blog? It can't really be for traffic so .. is it for backlinks?

Hundreds and hundreds of pages of content, rich in keywords AND backlinks. I use the rewrite engine in autoblogger to carefully balance my keywords. Google loves the constant updates and tons of text, and then comes traffic.

I use the plugin feedwordpress. I run a cron task to automate the postings every hour. As far as revenue, they do not make much but that is directly proportional to traffic.

I have mine set up with the older version of Wordpress but I've been told it works with Wordpress 2.x. I would be willing to set one up for a nominal charge.
