After four months of solid blog posting, backlinking and white hat SEO, I have logged online to find Google have updated the PR of my blog from a 0 to a 2! Still a long way to go but it's good to see the hard work is finally paying off!

Did anyone else see an update today?

A couple of days ago one of mine went from PR2 to 3.
It's not as meaningful a measure as it once was, so I don't get excited anymore... not that I did anyway.

Why is it not meaningful compared to how it used to be? I assumed that the higher your Google PR the higher your site would appear on search engines, although I could be wrong.

I'm really excited - purely because I now have proof that what I've been doing for month's hasn't been a waste of time... then again maybe it has?

I agree. PR's not much of a big deal nowadays as it was before. I've seen sites with low-to-zero PRs that rank well in the SERPs.

My friend, I suggest you focus more on how your site ranks well for your targeted keywords as well as try some social media marketing for exposure.

Google updates the PR at a certain time. But i`ve seen that they are trying to refresh sites` page rank more often. And keep on the work !

That's good to hear. Congratulations! :) The key now is to keep working on you site's off-page SEO in order to maintain, or exceed, your current page rank.

PageRank is just like being ranked in class. You get some kind of satisfaction. But it does not necessarily translate to anything else (e.g how much you might be able to earn from your site)
