I originally joined DP in search for a cheap content writer but kept observing that part of the forums in order to avoid scam and bad service, and I never hired anyone until now xD Through time I saw many stories where people brag how they earn much, and knew I should avoid those methods of traffic or income "tweaks" since AdSense represents the only revenue to my site. It was all peachy (although pretty low compared to various stories I read, and information I know from webmasters who have other sources of income for reviewing products or sponsors) until I received an email where I got a notification someone decided to disable AdSense on http://www.robaid.com We never had large CTR, never had spiking revenue, ads are properly placed and there are only 2-3 ads per page (used to be 1-2 per page, but our income nearly doubled when we added a top leaderboard advert), our SEO is clean, we don' t buy traffic or ask for users to click on adverts, and all of our content is manually written (or edited in case of in case of press releases) with links to external sources or credits regarding news source/image/product or company page. So far we had 1 complaint from a website where a whole paragraph was exactly the same (it was taken from 3rd party but copyrighted from the original source), and we changed that content in order to avoid any copyright issues. There are no details on what particular activity led to their decision and here is a part of the email: In the last 30 days, our AdSense CTR is 0.31%, and our AdSense eCPM is $0.94 In the past year, our AdSense CTR is 0.30%, and our AdSense eCPM $0.75 (11/11/2010 to 11/11/2011) To be honest, I got mad at AdWords where my clicks went on websites with no content (landing pages) or really poor content bloated with adverts (yes, I reviewed where my clicks came from on AdWords in order to disable my advert on those accounts). Our website has quality content, the website is optimized, quoted and mentioned on many relevant sources and websites, and it has a clean design. Your thoughts?
Website seems nice actually, I would send them an e-mail explaining what has happened, they may feel some sympathy for you. Good luck to you, it sucks to see honest people (as far as I can tell) being punished for such things..
Is your content unique or is it just feeds from other places. I ran it threw copyscape and around 10 sites not yours popped up.
Mail google and explain them about your traffic and your position. if your CTR is less and your traffic is legal, there is no point in banning you.
@eddie43302: It isn't entirely unique since there are press releases (edited for content and length) which are properly credited with a link to the source of the news. Some of the articles are mixed press releases and statements with our comments, while some are written from scratch by research and information we attain by contacting researchers/architects/companies. @emmons and @thedreamer09: Yes, I have used the form for appeal since I can't really find a reason for the website to get disabled. The website exists over 2 and a half years and has nearly 700 articles on it at the moment.
Only thing I can think of is duplicate content. Someone was saying that running it through copyscape was bringing back other sites.
Well, I ran a copyscape on a few of your articles and everyone had 5 or 6 matches to other sites so that is why your banned most likely.50-60% matches in the text. ---- ---- I really can't understand for the life of me why all these people come in DP every day wondering why their accounts got banned when they have sites that are copied from other people. Stealing is a crime, why don't people get that...?
So how do other news sites (some are even automated with an exact copy of original press release) manage to stay AdSense compliant? EDIT For example, here is a press release from Cornell University: http://www.pressoffice.cornell.edu/releases/release.cfm?r=62020&y=2011&m=10 Many news websites use the exactly IDENTICAL content and they provide a link to Cornell with a link within the text. Unlike them, we do a further research on the subject and add more relevant information and edit it to fit our general article layout or be more understandable to people who aren't experts in that area. The images which aren't public domain or owned by us are also properly credited to original sources. The last 4 articles are edited press releases (Honda and 3 different Universities) with proper credits. http://www.robaid.com/architecture/green-architecture-naked-stables-private-reserve.htm isn't taken from any press release and (according to my copyscape check) there is only 1 source with partially matching content (a sentence on the website of the Resort), while the rest are the websites with same comment form at the bottom.
They hire professional writers, they have the content on their site FIRST (and indexed) and some of them have premium Adsense accounts so they can get away with a little more. Plus some of them probably just haven't been found by Google yet.
Well, when I ran a copyscape of that article from cornell, it only had a few matching results and none of those site that had matches have Adsense on them. -- Just read your letter from Adsense, almost sounds like you got banned for invalid clicks not duplicate content? IDK may be just the way they worded it I guess.
If you use adwords to get traffic to your adsense pages, that is arbitrage and is not allowed according to google. You might have been banned for that.
they never provider details or the reason for account suspension. however, if you feel that you were service the ads according to the adsense policy, then you have the option to appeal the decision
I way I seen it, you got banned for stealing content. Didn't you know that its illegal to steal content? Anyway, the guy above it right. If you are going to be a NEWS(by that meaning worded information) then you have to make sure that your content is not being just taken from another source. Personally, what I do is if I hire a writer I check the content just in case, ALWAYS. I'm sorry, you are guilty: From your most recent article: take a look. The articles are ALL the same other than a few word switches. http://www.google.ca/#sclient=psy-a....,cf.osb&fp=fc9b778e952b1772&biw=1252&bih=501
just a question came in my mind, just your this word " STEALING IS A CRIME" . What search engines shows is not a crime for queries ? . What if someone post here a topic and other comment on those topic ? will that be still violation ? Youtube video shows ads ( Google adsense violation " Very little content or no content at all"). what about the site like imageshack.us . I think copyright issue only occurs if article has within law permission paper work or so then google can banned but first they warn for that DMCA notification . And for the thread starter" They will not unban your account no matter what you say ". but you can still try your luck by working on your site. gather all evidence you could also ask TC on google help forum.
Don't make sense... but bottom line is stealing is stealing and that's what he has done and that's why he is banned (most likely)
All of us took information from HONDA's press release http://world.honda.com/news/2011/c111108All-new-ASIMO/index.html (and HONDA was credited within the article) I guess I'll have to wait for an answer on my appeal.
You took a wrong decision mate by working with google , they never respect who works for them , they ban without reason thinking theya re witty .
