Most of us know the importance of creating links on pages with high page rank, but you may not know how Google perceives the value of PR.

Hi Guisbar, I disagree with your thoughts about .edu and .gov links are better than links from other types of TLDs. Just because you get a link from a .edu or .gov domain does not mean that link is better than one on a domain that ends in .com, .org, etc. Unless you can get a link on a .edu or .gov home page you're wasting your time because most of the links people get from .edu or .gov sites are from PR 0 or Not ranked page. If you can get a link from the home page then it's a commendable job otherwise you should rethink your link building strategy.

 

According to me, I do not think PR hardly matters now-a-days in link building. What matters is quality website in terms of content.

I agree with gauthamvit2003 and further more everyone always talks about building links naturally, do think it looks naturally to have links only from high PR sites. The reason these sites get PR is because in the eyes of Google they have lots of good quality content and it would stand to reason that if quality content is what gets a site PR then a link on any site with quality content regardless of PR would be a good link. Also keep in mind that just because a site has a PR of zero today doesn't mean tomorrow it cant have a PR of 2,3 or more.

 

Just build backlinks manually, and don't worry about the PR of the pages. People worry far too much about link quality, I got a website from PR0->PR4 in under 2 months by simply commenting on blogs that I found while looking for ways to fix my WP websites.

Adesnse is only about keywords and content and nothing to do with PR.

 

In my opinion Pagerank is only one of those parameters determining quality of backlink, others including relevance of content where backlink placed, domain age, IP diversity, etc.

The PR is a factor, but no its the most important...

 

PR has no bearing in where you show up in the Google search results. It was developed by Google in its initial algorithm. Over the years Google has used PR less and less for search results. I have seen PR0 sites ranking higher in the search results than a PR 3

 

Well, exactly PR of the website plays a huge role in entire link building process. Apart from Page Rank even niche of linking website also is an important factor which should be considered before link building.
