Here is a little encouragement. ( Pardon me for those who have seen it before.)

    He is not sure what is in his heart. That would require thinking it through. He just knows it feels good to be part of a movement. Its as exciting as setting a cop car on fire with 60 of your closest friends.

    He might just be having a hard time asking that businesses not privatize their gains while making their losses public debt, while the same time asking that home owners be allowed to do exactly that. Nobody likes a to look in the mirror and see a hypocrite, which is why he simply doesn't look in the mirror.

    This was posted Oct 31 on Adbusters (originator of the OWS movement). It sounds like they are looking forward to the protests becoming increasingly militant.

    Stunning. Just stunning. I read it. Followed the link. Read it again and verified the URL. I thought someone had created a website to smear adbusters, but no that is the official website, and that is an official post. The fact they would post such brazen nonsense is unbelievable. Seriously, American voters are going too be repulsed by this, both the overt tones of revolution, and the foreign (global) nature of it.

    There were 7k people who marched/set things on fire in Oakland. Its a relatively small number, though the quantity of OWS groups around the nation is rather disturbing. It seems obvious that as the movement becomes increasingly fringe, they are going to need to step it up a notch to gain support. Another Scott Olsen, but dead instead of injured.

    Agreed, it is repulsive.

    But, as far as the OWS protesters are concerned, they're just excited about being human microphones. I don't think we'll hear any condemnation of Adbusters from that crowd.

    OccupyWallSt.org -> Official site
    OccupyWallStreet.com -> Redirects to Official site
    OccupyWallStreet.org -> Redirects to Adbusters

    Last time I checked, agitation created by a foreign nation could be construed as an act of war. I know Adbusters doesn't represent the government of Canada, but its still as irksome as the fact these foreign roots aren't really covered in the MSM. Here is something else you won't see on TV.

    LMAO. Yah, I was impressed by that as well. I think his name is Fred Flinstone. This is just a guess, but that woman seemed like a bit of a hot head who may have gone off before. Either way, dad was not getting into an altercation while there with his wife and his 2 year old. I can forgive him for the hair pulling.

    It was the elderly people that got shoved to the floor that I found disturbing.

    Check this one out for a comparison of how the tea party people engage the Occupiers.

    Me too. The OWS protesters there just seemed so ignorant and hateful. I found this interview:

    The OWS forums have a bunch of people denying it was OWS, claiming it was Tea Party people claiming to be OWS that attacked those elderly people. Starting to sound a bit like Islamists, if you ask me.

    Check out this OWS guy crapping on the American flag.

    The Occupy DC protest crowd has an intense negative energy, perhaps, more so in comparison to various protests that I've happened to watch. I thought it might have just been the particular video you posted earlier, but it wasn't. I went to YouTube and watched other footage of Occupy DC, and it all felt the same. So much hate. I think one of the elderly victims is just saying she went for a Ronald Reagan banquet. Good for her. Instead of ending up with an enjoyable evening, she's confronted by these idiotic thugs and ends up being shoved down the stairs. And, it's ridiculous if they're somehow trying to blame the Tea Party. I think part of it is that OWS protesters probably looked at her as being wealthy, and unfortunately, many of them translate that into "enemy" - you know, the evil 1% that they can blame for everything, and feel free to demonize. It's really a dangerous mentality. I'm sure not everyone in OWS is like that, but enough. Honestly, it's kind of scary. Btw, I'm not for sure, but I don't believe that particular picture (flag) is of an OWS protester. However, I do know OWS protesters have desecrated American flags - a few examples here and here. I remember seeing another where a protester in Austin tore a flag and wrote all over it as well. It's sad.

    p.s.

    Here's more Occupy DC:

    I realize that the few ruin it for the many, but I think that the OWS crowd, if they were American, would not have allowed things like this.

    I always had the feeling that OWS was infested with anti-american people.. But how many Americans are actually supporting it, how many Americans are there?

    Depending on the poll (there have been several), 30-34% are the recent highs for approval rating with American voters. Disapproval ranges from 40-47%, with ~30% who either don't who OWS is, or what they stand for. It will take some time for public opinions to gel on OWS, as the media pundits kick it around.

    MSNBC coverage has been generally glowing, Fox cautiously neutral to negative. I think there is some very serious consideration being given on Fox to how negative coverage may actually fuel the movement. Its sad, but it leaves any real coverage in the local papers and on the blogs.

    These stories, and many more are everywhere except any main stream media channel. Are they actively not reporting to keep from fueling the movement, or do they fear that reporting the stories will cause an escalation in violence? All things considered, I feel journalistic and editorial integrity would be the better call, though that is a lot to ask from any MSM channel, especially MSNBC or Fox.

    I thought this photo blog was rather amusing: http://toddkinsey.com/blog/2011/10/10/tea-party-vs-occupy-wall-street-in-pictures/

    There are some incidents (189 so far) listed here. Not all are illegal, but still, doesn't reflect well on OWS. I picked one from the list. Here's a New York protester saying he hopes 911 happens again:

    This guy has been hanging out at OccupyLA gathering data for his blog. Check this out.

    The best line from that whole thing.
    Truer words were never spoken. Another entry had this to say.

    I found another video of Ralph, and it includes the first part of the interview. You're right on about the drug use, he admits in the beginning to smoking something that morning. However, I don't think it's just that, listening to him, he also appears to have mental health problems. I watched the video from the beginning, and he says he doesn't care if his mother and father die, and just weird out of the blue stuff. Mid-video he says he wants to go to North India - but seriously, watching that video kind of made me sad, I hope he gets some help.

    That reminds me of a thread on OWS about OccupyLA. They were complaining. I can't remember exactly what they said, but I think they were disappointed because they went down to protest, but everyone at OccupyLA just wanted to get high instead.
