After using it for months, I only recently discovered that you can make copies of ALL your uploaded files at Oron. Just Create New Folder, preferably when you are already looking at the folder/files you want to copy. Then mass click all the files/folder you want to copy. Then toggle the name of the New Folder and click 'copy'. You now have two identical copies of the folder. If one gets deleted, you still have backup.

So, you could take two copies of one file and post them at different places. I am starting to do this. I split differently-identified postings of the same file(s) between 1.) Well known forums and 2.) My own websites at free porn blog providers. I noticed the latter do not get deleted as much as the former.

(Parenthetically, it seems that Oron periodically deletes files that never get downloaded, which I totally understand)/

 

You can do that with Filesonic but you are not copying the file you are creating another link to it so the hash is the same so if a DMCA is filed all links to that file are killed.

Not sure if Oron uses the same method

 

Thanks. Actually, I just assumed the copied file at Oron wouldn't be also deleted. Haven't had any actual experiences yet. In that case, the 'copy file' feature would only be good for testing different marketing avenues.

 

Copied files do get deleted when the original file expires (if it don't get downloaded in 3 months or 6 month if it got downloaded one time or more)

Funny thing is, oron offers a file copy mechanism, that gives you the ability to restore files removed through DMCA, yet on their support line they say "don't restore files we delete because it's DMCA".

So why do they offer the file copy feature? It does not offer any other value then to restore DMCA deleted files.

I kept restoring my files until Oron got pissed off, at least they gave me a warning instead of closing my account, i'm thinking they want me there cause i make money, yet they wanna serve the law so they don't get in trouble.

It's all good, i'll quit restoring these particular files for awhile until things calm down.

I need ideas how to drive new traffic to my site, anyone have any good ones? I've pretty much optimized for SEO and it's growing slowly but surely, would be nice to get some quality links perhaps to get a higher page rank.

could someone do some math for me, when changing to 50% of downloads + 7$ Sale. What do you recieve for 300 daily downloads. I am not familar with PPD only
read that you get $100 for each 1000 downloads, so what could you expect for 300 downloads? i gues something between 4-5 dollar ? thanks for help.

 

I guess Promotion is end.. no more $100..... you will get $30 for 1000DL. but if you don't generate sales or renewals . you won't get it either.. because Oron runs account level based on your sales. just stick with 55%/55% is best deal.. unless you make 500 plus DL and make 1sale.. $15 instead of 1sale(could be $7 ~$50). you make 1000DL and make 1~2 1month sale it is better to stick with PPD.or 50%DL/$7per sale..<but that way you will missing renewals and rebills??? Not sure about this...>

thats what i thought, you pay $100/1000 Downloads, this is no promotion? So on a 50% Account Level this means $50/1000 downloads right?

 

That Reseller bullshit is getting annoying, only getting 2bucks per sale from that, it's really really bad.

Oron takes 75% or something, they lovin it.

 

For PPD use another host Oron is good for PPS and rebills.

That is if you have 100% (halved to 50% for that 50/7 plan) account level. That is a rare thing, and remember that the 1,000 downloads are free downloads not premium downloads. Also if you don't get adequate sales (and usually you would come out ahead with sales over PPD), then Oron can and has declined payment to PPD people. Too many variables when it comes to the account level and actually having a high enough level to make a decent return through PPD.

I generally suggest to use the 55%55% Pay Per Sale mode.
IF you work with PPD you have to realize that you have to stay on that mode for at least 7 days.
How much your will make is hard to predict since your rank defines your income.
And your ranking is determined by the overall used space by your files in relation to the sales you make.
Thus if you are permanently uploading new files it might be possible that your rank will get lower although you generate sales.
Keep that in mind.
Maybe you just try it out!
