How to get 25,000 visitors? Stuck at 12K

I have a fairly large site that deals with a computer niche and it has good, but not great traffic. Consistantly gets 11-12K a day, but I want to double that and I'm stuck on ideas. Any suggestions. Also I'd be happy to help guide people to the 10K milestone.

 

Well, for me to tell you what else to do, I need to know what you hve already done.

11-12k visitors!! Its Great ! ...So you want to double it...Just double the efforts. That's it.

 

It doesn't work like that. Every marketing angle has a maximum # of traffic it can send. For example, you are number on on the toplist with 100 uniques in, if you send in 200 insteead of 100, you will get the same amount of traffic. Another example, you are #1 for a keyword, if you SEO your site more, you wont get more traffic.

 

I think google and yahoo would beg to differ with that, and so would I. How did google do it without advertising? They doubled their efforts. Instead of just being a search engine, they offer news, then they added search for pics, then they added email, when they want more visitors they just work on their site to offer more.

Adding content I think is a great idea.

What if that 12k daily visitors mostly came to get free code, and now your site offered site statistics as well? Could you get another 12k of daily uniques just for that target audience? Now you are getting 24k daily visitors, and all you had to do is double your efforts/target audience.

 

Lets see things I've done...
digg / slashdot / stumble upon multiple times lots of social bookmarking
partnering with other related webmasters
added lots of content pages and pages of content
did some branding of the domain and so forth

tried SEO, but that didn't bring in many visitors
tried CPC, but that barely brought in 1000 visitors total

I've been broading my userbase in hopes that it will expand traffic, but it hasn't picked up yet.

 

Wyla is right...each avenue of traffic can only be maximized so much. However, we'd still need to know what you did already so we can offer advice on what you need to do still.

 

One other thing that is rarely mentioned on this forum to get to the 10K milestone is to pick up on your key readers and bring them into the site itself. Have them act as your promoting agents.

 

Alright, now what is your niche/genre? That will pretty much sum up all i need to know.

Could someone explain to me how Digg works? Do you submit your own story or one that is one another website? If it is a story on another website, how to you then get a link?

for digg you can submit your own stuff, but I've found it works better organically when you let someone else submit your articles from digg links on your site. That way they get their network of digg friends to digg it for you.

 

Post the best thing in the world that no one else has ever posted before allthough... then again... You could just pay 25,000 peaple 1buck each to go on your site

 

you said that you gave up on seo for your site, that takes time, you just can trade links for a week and see results.
