i have been using godaddy for five years and i have no complaints so it might be worth using a credit card.

Name.com is what i use, and they frequently have special offers, or at least you can find legitimate discount codes to use to get domains much cheaper.

Please contact me if you need godaddy COUPON CODES. The only requirement is you can use the coupon from a new go daddy account and from a unique link which I can give.

I can't believe all the recommendations for godaddy... those guys are horrible!

Unethical 'transfer locks', spam-filled screens you have to plow through, sneaky up-sells, slow bloated interface...

Domain Privacy is $1.95/Free the FIRST year… but then runs you $8.95 for EACH domain every year thereafter. Their domain privacy is handled by their other company, DomainsByProxy.com, yet another login/pass you have to remember & keep track of.

But their 60 Day Rule/HOLD takes the cake... anytime a change is made to the domain register/whois info (ex: change a digit on your phone number, update email address, etc) then you trigger the hold. Even a domain push triggers this hold... They do this as thier own internal policy, outside of the ICANN official policy. This means your domain is held HOSTAGE at godaddy until the 60 days expire.

If you want to transfer out, that includes canceling whois privacy service FIRST, then wait 60 days to transfer. If the domain is about to expire and you have domain privacy enabled, you will have had to cancel the privacy 60 days prior to expiration. You can NOT transfer while privacy is on (this is true for all companies).

Hi mariainfosys, Myself also experienced the same problem when I tried to buy a domain name using paypal. I am from India. This problem is due to the interference of Reserve Bank of India. They have instructed paypal not to use indians' funds for purchasing things on the net. So paypal is immediately transferring funds to the Indian users' bank accounts. That is why they are asking for credit or debit card details for transactions. The only solution is to use other pay processors. I used my alertpay fund to buy my domain from gossimer.com. They accept alertpay. There are few more other sites also accepting alertpay.

I've been using yahoo business for years. That way all my domains are in one place for management. You can also get cheap domains as yahoo frequently runs promotions for new members. This way you can lock it domains for really cheap for up to 5 years.

There is an option in Godaddy. In checkout page, you'll find 3 options 'Gift card, credit card, paypal'. Choose Paypal and you can use yours. But i faced problem recently using paypal. So I bought from name.com
