ADSENSE FOR FORUMS - Ideas, Placement and More

I have a couple of forums that I'm making some adsense money from, but I believe there is a lot more potential than what most monetize from adsense in forums.

I normally have guests see more ads and remove them when they join.

Since the last of February 2006, I've made about $1200. on my gti site. But I have about 1000 uniques per day and believe it could be much more.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried placing the ads after the first and/or last post?

Normally a Laderboard under the members bar do the best. but, you can try placing ads in between posts, like after first post. and another in footer.

I always like to place forum ads around the bottom where most members use the quick reply option.

Under the first post in every thread works pretty well. Also, on the right side of every page and at the top (maybe blend a Link Unit with the navigation bar)

take a look at my integration. The fake category at the top of the index page has a large CTR and is not in violation of the TOS.

Try making an attractive placement in forums where its not ads blinded to the visitor...use complimentary colors, placing them on left hand side along the menu would also do well...placing them in your posts itself is the best way to get on with adsense campaign. It has most CTR ratios and everything...

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Would it be against TOS if I had adsense in signatures?

I think you would be risking violating the TOS if you had ads in signatures - aren't you only allowed 3 adsense units per page? If you answered in a thread more than 3 times you would be against the TOS.

Can anyone recommend any good mods to integrate adsense with phpBB please?

I think you'll find it most definitely is. Tricking users into clicking ads is criminal.

I've a good mind to report you to Google for that.

    This is TOS violation.

But it would be a good idea to do something like you exept that you remove name of the category and number of posts and put more ads. So people will think this are best or last posts and click if they are interested.

    @DoA :

The Best ad placement & blending i've ever seen for forum. You've a future my friend.

Eventhough it looks like a violation, just add another forum to this category & sent a mail to google about it. They'll hear you..

    Best of luck.

you can try placing the ad between the posts and then notice the change for some days . Also you can go for banners if the traffic is good .

Leaderboard after nav bar works the best. An ad block under the first post is also a very good source of income, and lastly have a link bar at the end of the last post, or a banner.

    Good luck.
