Thanks Blue Star. Robjones, This thread has a title clearly different than the current discussion. Way to get yourself involved (without probably reading anything on the thread) it with an even more off topic post. Good job.
I think the ultimate solution to the Occupy movement is to let those of us that like to go paintballing, have a little fun and give the cops a rest.
.....and things are a little tense in Denver...
Just a little, here's Part 2:
Odd, they've not removed my Ron P A U L posts.. http://occupywallst.org/article/occupy-wall-st-and-allies-rally-march-united-civil/#comments
That does not look too good. If they are really 40% tea partiers.. the forum leaders are not really allowing the people to speak, right ? What kind of forum admin who loves freedom would restrict free speech? Obamanation...? Here is what Sgt. Shamar Thomas thinks about some folks at the protests :
I was stunned at the amount of professionalism and self restraint exhibited by those police officers, one of which was a female. One guy even whacked a cop over the head with a protest sign, and nothing happened to him, while that would be assault in any other situation. That video demonstrates a classic tactic. You basically get yourself all worked up and start screaming, without actually assaulting anyone and hope the cops you are screaming at lose their cool. Makes me glad I don't have their job. As a private citizen, somebody gets in my face like that, I'd be thinking about hitting him if he weren't 6'6" and 285lbs of muscle. Maybe just a quick kick in the nuts, to see if he went down, and run if necessary . 40% is my rough estimate based on the content of posts, and not of Tea Party folk, but rather Ron Paul supporters(I suppose they really are an unofficial subset of the Tea Party movement). The people running the forum hate it, and they hate Paul. Almost any form of political promotion is acceptable so long as it isn't Paul. To be fair, tea party bloggers have that forum under assault. I've been tempted to start the "Occupy Occupy" movement, and get a whole crew of Tea Partiers to participate in one of the General Assemblies. They are less prone to step on free speech in the actual protests, since the very negative press of that Occupy Atlanta video, where they blocked a black congressman from speaking. Showing up with Tea Party people en masse would likely dispel any notions of what "We are the 99%" really means.
The problem is these hippies and young people have yet to experience real suffering, pain, indifference or struggle. They've been coddled on moms tit for so long and spoiled to such a degree that any form of thought or differing opinions are reflected in their eyes as oppression and an attack on their body and soul. Something tells me we ought to go back to making kids find their own switch, or taking a paddle to some of these little brats.
Two years of mandatory military service would be good. Taking a paddle to them will get you into trouble with the Department of Health and Services.
