I got a submission that was a location escort site. Obviously it is not family friendly site and I rejected it. However after searching some of the best directories like botw / hotvsnot, I think otherwise. These folks have a category for this and encourage submission. What do you guys think? Would you permit an escort site on your directory?
It all depends upon your own decision but in general you should avoid such sites in case you have a general niche directory.
Escort directory is high demand, if you would like to offer pay link, they willing to pay it. It depend on your decision, once you start it, you have to continue all the time.
Create an adult category, put a warning on the first page that says " no kids" and recognize that few people will actually be using your directory to find escort sites. There aren't a zillion do-gooders in the internet world who will find your adult section and report you to the non sex having authorities in the world. Besides who are you to censor what people choose to do? Families are a by-product of sex, that's life, why stress?
If all the categories in the directory not good to give some thing back no need for adults one ? Do you like any kids search to reach that ?
You've got gambling sites for gawd's sake. What's worse - sex or gambling??? OK for a 16 year old to play the slots is it? To go to casino sites? Is it OK to accept payday loan sites? Pharmacy sites? Sites with different religious views? Sites advertising Guns? Sites advertising different political views? Is it OK to accept sites advertising underwear but not partially nude sites? Your choice.
The Thread about the escort websites Yes there is gambling it was long time on it and its not easy to move it . No Adult content sites Payment will not be refund. just to stop it .
I think that you should accept adult websites, only put a warning and let the people decide if are interested or not.
The point I am making is that there are many types of what can be termed "adult sites", the terminology is too vague and non specific. You may know exactly what you mean but that doesn't mean other people do. Is Facebook an adult site? It has nudity, bad words, hate, stalking and even murderers posting their next crimes. If you don't want to accept pornography, escort services etc, then state that.
My take would be to ensure they meet the quality guidelines, the same as any other site. Be strict. If they don't look legitimate, are an affiliate (most of them are) or are spammy don't include. Same as you'd reject any other site that doesn't meet the guidelines.
Google has a rather vague policy regarding linking out to bad "neighborhoods" and puts out statements like; "Google trusts sites less when they link to spammy sites or bad neighborhoods, parts of our system encourage links to good sites." I have seen some really classy, well made escort/adult websites and while I don't think G says definitively that these sites are spammy or bad neighborhood, I think the general consensuses is they probably are. Since it's not cut and dried I choose not to take the chance plus I personally think this type of adult material distracts from a general directory. I'm certainly no prude but I think there are far more potential visitors who would rather not be exposed to it in directories than there are those who would or who don't care one way or the other.
Which is another good point to consider. Perhaps running a little Google background check on the site to see if they even show up in search would be a good idea. If Google ranks them, in good stead, then it would be hypocritical to then label them a bad neighbourhood. Having said that, Google would always have an excuse. Some of their results are astoundingly bad.
I have only accepted one escort website on any of my directories, and it shows no nude pictures. But for the rest I have rejected them.
For my directory, I have exclusive policies rejecting any nudity. That being said, its unfair to group all sites as bad or evil as I have seen for very well done escort sites. I also mix follow and no follow links and have sites classified as family, general, or mature. Most importantly, I have a nuclear option that lets me refuse any site for any reason. Using such an option too much though can hurt your directory so you do need to be careful, but it can be needed under extreme situations. Bottom line really depends on you and your audience. Where you target your directory will have the biggest impact. An escort site probably won't go well if your audience is primarily SAHMs and WAHMs.
NO most of directory owner didnt allow escort, porn , casino related site, i also didnt allow it, I think these thing should not be promoted,
