I'm going to #OWS in Dallas tomorrow as the first of 9 #OWS destinations that I'll be going to throughout the next two weeks planning to end up in NY City in two weeks.

I believe what they are doing is right, essential, and worth fighting for.

As long as they don't get corrupted or "bought out" by movements or parties that don't share the common good of the nation at heart, then I'm for the movement. I've always thought that Europe and Canada have done right by their protests when there is corruption or unfairness (not counting the dumb riots after the Stanley Cup). I hope this continues and grows and puts the scare in greedy big business and corrupt government that backs it up.

That will be interesting so we can stay informed by someone that's actually involved in it. I've been wondering about how cold it's going to get in New York, and the effect it could have on the protest.

Here's part of one article that considered whether OWS protesters could also get some indoor space with some of the donations:

I hope they do, even if it's just somewhere warm to sleep.

Did any of you ever think about occupying a soup kitchen or food pantry? What they are doing is right, essential, and worth contributing to.

I'm worried at those who are attempting to co opt this movement. Do you have any information on who trying to help fund it and why? There is no doubt the system needs changing, but I fear they will just use it as an excuse to have a one world government and one world central bank and even more control over our lives.

Finally someone who speaks some sense. These people haven't a clue what they really want, so disorganized it's untrue. They're an embarrassment to human intelligence. Most of these hippies have never ever experienced true communism like Cuba and North Korea, they don't understand politics and they doesn't understand economics. What they do understand is that they're poor, it's some how unfair and everything should be given to them forever.

There is no one funding it. This is not Tea Party. This is not a party at all. These are people unhappy with the incredible injustice and inequality that exists in today's world

Incorrect. Acorn is funding a large part of it. As well as several other large labor organizations. They are hiring protestors on Craigs list, and the movement itself now has some 500 million in the bank.

If you really want to compare the Tea Party to this organized / disorganized protest, you have to compare the arrest ratio, rape ratio and theft ratios as well.

So far Occupy has had over 2500 arrests, 4 rapes, and too numerous a number of thefts to count.

Tea Party? ZERO RAPES, ZERO ARRESTS, and ZERO THEFT.

Care to post links to where you get your $500 million numbers? How about Acorn funding a large part of it. Also about the thefts. Or are they just claims that you heard on some TV channel? So far they've raised about $300,000 from PEOPLE donating themselves (not some billionaire). Also, 2500 unarmed civil protesters (occupiers) arrested? That just shows they're on the right track.

Why is a group of whom you call all hippies occupying a certain location in the city is so terrifying to everyone. This is true democracy. People protesting for what they believe in.

Met any of them. Why would I want to hang around with a bunch of losers, who are becoming ever increasing more unemployable with every passing day. Nobody cares, everybody has their own problems to sort out. I just can't tell you how uninterested everybody is in a bunch or cry babies. Eat or get eaten, make a choice.

That's exactly the problem. People don't care about the society anymore. It's all about personal gain with total disregard on how it affects others.
