recently i tried to do some directory submission. i followed the previous list that i followed 1 years age. but this time i saw that most of the links are dead, became no follow. etc. so before doing directory submission check the status and PR of the site. thanks
It is indeed not a waste of time. It is the best way to start your SEO. You can get back-links from directories as u need to look for the good directories because once you get an approval you have made a back-link for your website. Instant results are only seen in paid forms of submissions.
I think it depends on the directory and category you put your site in, folks are still seeing results with directories
I do it from a long time,it is not at all waste time,it also get backlinks for the site.but all the directories are not have the same c class IP,you must have to take care of it.
No, I think Directory submission is not waste time, if you are doing in right ways,for example: always choose high Page Rank directory for your website and choose relevant category. This way helps to get more backlinks and increase traffic for your website.
So I have submitted to 10 -15 directories and I would like to know this. Is this really the most effective way to start doing SEO for a site, or should I be spending my time elsewhere on something that may be more fruitful?? I am new to this and my site is new as well, do I am open to any and all suggestions.
Directory submission is good to getting the one way back-links, but we need to check whether that directory relevant to our market or not. Before going to submitting any Directory we need to follow some check points, like: Is that DIR have PR or not. R U submitting your link related category or not. whether that site black listed or not. Google bots crawled that site or not... For my suggestion DIR submission also value for getting keyword wight age and back links.. Thanks, Jo365
