I am ranking quite well in the .com results at the moment, I believe due to my site having an american host, but how can I improve my ranking within the .co.uk results? Is there something I can do at all to promote my site towards ranking in both and not just heavily weighted towards .com?
Suppose you could try adding some UK based keywords? Advertise on a UK website related to your niche?
First you need .co.uk domain if you have then you get Easy rank but if you have not .co.uk domain then make all links using .co.uk Ips and try to get all links through .co.uk sites so you get easy rank on .co.uk
yaeh.. target local SEO now. i.e submisison of directory, bookmarking, classifies etc. in Local search engines and local sites.....
Please host your website in uk if you have more business potential in uk .we need to host our website related to most business place so that we can get the ranking in perticular region. Also do the target your keyword for uk.
Although, server location impacts your ranking in a big way... If possible, I would advise you to host your website in target country. Other tips for promoting your website in specific geographic region. - Get a country specific TLD - Submit your website to local search engines - Submit your website to local web directories - Get backlinks from target country - Get listed on local classified websites - Participate in communities that are active in target country - Get citations
I have a .com for a site and wanted to get it ranking in the UK as it is not really that relevant for the US. Firstly it ranked in the US (it was and still is hosted in the US) so I changed the targeting in Google Webmaster Tools and within a week it was ranking in the UK (and still in the US).
